After a sensational 2021-22 season, in which he has also outridden his claim, Laqdar Ramoly has been crowned Champion Apprentice Jockey in Perth, Western Australia.

Nicknamed ''Lucky'', he finished in 8th position in the Western Australian Metropolitan standings with 39 winners and 122 placings, while he was 5 wins ahead of his nearest rival in the Apprentice Standings.
With 27 wins to his credit, Keshaw Dhurun finished in 12th place in the standings, while Brandon Louis made it into the top 50 with 13 wins overall, with 9 occurring during last month, and also finished in 12th place in the Tasmania Metropolitan standings with 20 wins.
Laqdar Ramoly currently has 193 career wins, while Keshaw Dhurun and Brandon Louis have 116 and 90 wins respectively.
John Claite, the riding master for all three jockeys, says that he is very proud of them and that even after having outridden their claims, they all continue to get rides from all the trainers.
